WEG Fully Digital Soft Starters and Micro VFD Drives from AutomationDirect

January 15, 2020

New compact soft starters and micro VFD drives have been added to the AutomationDirect motor controls lineup which encompasses simple manual controllers, motor contactors and starters, drives and soft starters.

WEG SSW05 and SSW07 soft starters are compact, fully digital soft starters with state-of-the-art DSP (Digital Signal Processor) controller designed to provide great performance on motor starts and stops. Digital technology provides optimum operation, diagnostics capability and full motor protection. With easy dip switch/potentiometer setup, these soft starters simplify start-up and daily operations. The compact soft starters optimize space in electrical panels and adapt to installation requirements with optional remote keypad and other accessories.

WEG SSW05 soft starters (from $282.00) are available in 10A to 85A rated current versions @ 230-460V in 2 frame sizes, operating on 90 – 250 VAC control power. The SSW07 series of soft starters (from $614.00) features 13 models from 10 to 350 HP at 220- 575 VAC, 4 frame sizes, and operates on 110-240 VAC control power.

The new Gen 2 WEG CFW100 VFD drive is a single-phase input (110/230 VAC), three-phase output variable frequency drive developed for applications ranging from 1/4 to 1hp (0.18 to 0.75 kW). The CFW100 series features a compact size and is ideal for applications on machines or equipment that require precise control with easy setup and operation. WEG vector control or scalar control can be selected.

The built-in SoftPLC with operator interface allows the CFW100 to work interactively with motor and application. Compatibility with free WEG Programming Suite (WPS) software enables custom tailored control schemes including PID control. A variety of plug-in option modules for additional I/O and communications protocols can be added to extend capabilities. A remote keypad and flash memory module are also available. Sixteen CFW100 units are available starting at $142.00.
