Available Soon: Small Controller PNOZmulti 2 With EtherCAT FSoE

The protocol Safety-over-EtherCAT (FSoE) was defined in order to implement secure data transfer for EtherCAT. FSoE enables the transfer of safety-related and non-safety-related information in the EtherCAT communication system. As a result, FSoE is suitable for safety applications up to SIL 3 in accordance with IEC 61508. The safe small controller PNOZmulti 2 is easy to configure as FSoE Master from Version 11.3 of the software tool PNOZmulti Configurator.

The safe communication module PNOZ m EF EtherCAT FSoE will be available in the first quarter of 2024! We will provide information via our newsletter! Subscribe now with just a few clicks, and stay up-to-date on the issues and trends in safe automation.

Your benefits when using the communication modules PNOZmulti 2

Available Soon: Small Controller PNOZmulti 2 With EtherCAT FSoE
  • Worldwide application options thanks to connections to all common fieldbus and Ethernet systems
  • Fieldbus modules are easy to exchange, without any program changes
  • User-friendly diagnostic options mean short downtimes and high plant availability
  • Safe communication via the real-time Ethernet SafetyNET p
  • The safe small controllers PNOZmulti 2 can be used irrespective of the industry, country or machine type

Safe communication via SafetyNET p

You can link up to 16 PNOZmulti 2 base units via the safe real-time Ethernet SafetyNET p. Use the safe expansion module PNOZ m EF SafetyNET to do this! In the first step a link is available via linear topology. 32-bit data is exchanged via RTFL, enabling short cycle times in your application. A clearly structured data interface where the inputs are configured with 128 bit and the outputs with 32 bit characterises the data link.

The software tool PNOZmulti Network Editor is used to configure a SafetyNET p network and for project linking. It is called up directly from the PNOZmulti Configurator and can link variables from the input and output image of PNOZmulti projects. Once uploaded into the PNOZmulti systems, the SafetyNET p network is ready to use.

Use the safe expansion module PNOZ m EF SafetyNET for each base unit (PNOZ m B0 or B1). The base units can be combined as required. PNOZmulti and PNOZmulti Mini base units can also be incorporated into the network via a Multi Link expansion module.

Product features of the communication modules PNOZmulti 2

  • Expansion modules for connecting to a base unit of the configurable safe small controller PNOZmulti 2
  • Can be configured with the software tool PNOZmulti Configurator
  • For connection to fieldbus systems: max. 1 fieldbus module can be connected to the base unit
  • Status indicators for communication with the fieldbus and for errors
  • 128 virtual outputs for communication with the fieldbus can be defined for the control system PNOZmulti 2 in the PNOZmulti Configurator
  • Plug-in connection terminals – choice of spring-loaded terminals or screw terminals available as accessories
  • Only for PNOZ m B0: Ability to connect communication modules PNOZ m ES ETH with two Ethernet interfaces, PNOZ m ES RS232 with one RS232 interface, in addition to the fieldbus module
