Siemens’ Software to Manage Network Model Data Increases Operational Efficiency
  • Siemens’ Gridscale X Network Model Manager enables better grid planning, operations and maintenance for ISOs and TSOs with a Digital Twin
  • The software is cloud ready as well as fully accessible via APIs, and comes with a modular architecture and cutting-edge user interface
  • Gridscale X Network Model Manager is the next generation of Siemens’ network model management offerings and part of Siemens Xcelerator

Siemens has announced the launch of new Gridscale X software with the release of a Gridscale X Network Model Manager in the US and Canada. The product allows ISOs (independent system operators) and TSOs (transmission system operators) to centrally manage their network data with a Digital Twin of the power grid for more efficient planning, development and operations.

The Gridscale X Network Model Manager handles various grid scenarios such as new or changing assets, facilitates project handling, and fosters teamwork and collaboration within and across utilities. The software is cloud ready as well as fully accessible via APIs and comes with a modular architecture and cutting-edge user interface. With this Gridscale X Network Model Manager is the next generation of Siemens’ network model management offerings and part of Siemens Xcelerator, an open digital business platform that enables customers to accelerate their digital transformation.

“The rapid transformation of the power grid creates new challenges for grid operators. With increasingly large amounts of data to be analyzed and exchanged, Gridscale X Network Model Manager enables utilities to break down silos and exchange model data across the entire utility stakeholder landscape – from planning to operations and maintenance. This ultimately increases efficiency to build a simulation ready model and strengthens collaboration across the board with a Digital Twin of the power grid,” said Sabine Erlinghagen, CEO Siemens Grid Software.

Siemens and UL Solutions Redefine Future of Certification Process with Groundbreaking Digital-Twin Technology

For the first time ever, an industrial product has been certified for the United States after parts of the required tests were conducted through digital simulation. That simulation was verified and validated with physical testing. This remarkable achievement is a global first in a national safety-certification process. To make this advance possible, Siemens collaborated with UL Solutions, an esteemed global leader in applied safety science. The result is a testimony to the remarkable accuracy and reliability of modern digital twin simulations. It marks a step forward into a future in which digital twins and the industrial metaverse streamlines product development, enhances innovation, safety and accelerates time-to-market.
