Siemens Awarded Platinum Medal in EcoVadis Sustainability Rating 2024
  • Platinum medal awarded with 80 of 100 points
  • Siemens ranked in the top 1 percent out of 73,000 companies assessed worldwide

Siemens has received 80 points in the latest EcoVadis Sustainability Rating and was awarded with the highest recognition – the Platinum medal. With this score, the technology company ranks in the top one percent of about 73,000 companies that were assessed worldwide by EcoVadis, a leading provider of business sustainability ratings.

Since 2021, Siemens has significantly improved its score by 19 points, moving from Silver in 2021 to Gold in 2023 to Platinum in 2024. The EcoVadis assessment evaluates 21 sustainability criteria across four core themes: environment, labor and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement.

“We are immensely proud of this achievement, and it is a testament to our commitment to sustainability,” said Eva Riesenhuber, Global Head of Sustainability at Siemens. “More than 90 percent of our business enables our customers to achieve a positive sustainability impact in the areas of decarbonization and energy efficiency, resource efficiency and circularity, and people centricity and societal impact. We remain dedicated to scaling sustainability impact.”

Siemens defines its environment, social and governance (ESG) targets through the strategic framework DEGREE – tackling sustainability from every angle. The technology company follows a holistic approach in six fields of action: decarbonization, ethics, governance, resource efficiency, equity and employability – with stringent and measurable key performance indicators.

EcoVadis’ sustainability ratings are based on international sustainability standards such as the Ten Principles of the UN Global Compact, the International Labour Organization (ILO) conventions, the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) standards and the ISO 26000 standard. The ratings provide an evidence-based analysis on performance and an actionable roadmap for continuous improvement.
