Brock Solutions Selected to Develop Mohawk Valley Water Authority’s SCADA Master Plan

June 2, 2020

Brock Solutions has been selected to perform a SCADA Master Plan for the Mohawk Valley Water Authority (MVWA). The MVWA covers 19 municipalities in Upstate New York, including the City of Utica and towns and villages of Oneida and Herkimer Counties. Operations cover over 700 miles of water main with 60 major facilities and 24 service zones servicing over 130,000 people.

Brock is working with MVWA to develop a future SCADA Water strategy that is practical, innovative and based on industry best-practices. Developing this strategy encompasses reviewing the current landscape, talking to a variety of stakeholders across the organization, working with their industry partners, and bringing a best of breed approach that addresses the MVWA’s specific needs and goals.

The strategy will include plans for upgrading legacy automation and SCADA technology, and control networking environment with modern technology that takes into account cyber secure platforms and devices. This will position the MVWA with a SmartWater environment that expands visibility, connectivity, analytics, and proactive capabilities. The overall strategy will outline the future state SmartWater architecture, standards, sustainability, and migration prioritization roadmap.
