Invertek bolsters its VFD line-up with new outdoor rated additions

November 29, 2018

Invertek has revealed it is adding sizes 2 and 3 with IP66 outdoor rated enclosures to its Optidrive Eco (fan and pump control) and P2 high-performance range of VFDs, including TFT displays as standard on the models previewed at SPS IPC Drives 2018..

The new IP66 rated Optidrive VFDs bring additional opportunities for applications in harsh, outdoor situations. The Eco and P2 Size 2 will be available up to 5.5kW, with the Size 3 up to 15kW.

The addition of the class-leading Optidrive E3 Size 5 will provide a power rating of up to 37kW for demanding applications.

It comes after the global innovator and manufacturer of VFD technology revealed the Coolvert VFD at Chillventa in October. Coolvert has one of the smallest footprints in its class, providing OEMs with opportunities to reduce panel space and lower machine costs.

“The new Size 2 and 3 Eco and P2 Optidrives have been developed following feedback from customers who like the energy saving benefits they bring to precise motor control along with the reliability,” said Rhydian Welson, Sales and Marketing Director at Invertek Drives Ltd.

“Having the ability to take that VFD technology into some of the harshest environments with the outdoor-rated IP66 enclosures means the possibilities are now endless for a wide variety of applications globally.”

The Optidrive Eco range is one of Invertek’s most popular general purpose VFDs due to its ease of installation and commissioning, in addition to its reliability in HVAC, pump and elevator control.

The P2 is a world-leading VFD used in some of the most demanding situations. The addition of a larger Size 5 will see its capabilities providing even more solutions for the control of motors in conveyor systems, manufacturing, factory automation, pumping and food processing among others.

All Optidrive P2s provide 150% overload for 60 seconds as standard, ensuring each drive is suitable for heavy-duty applications.

Used in tandem with the Optistick Smart and OptiTools Mobile app, updates, replication and analysis can be undertaken quickly and easily.

The new range has been previewed at SPS along with its existing range of VFDs and associated technology.

Show visitors were able to meet and discuss the products with Invertek’s sales, technical and innovations teams.
