Siemens Reports Earnings Release Q1 FY 2022: Very Successful Start to Fiscal 2022

 

  • •Orders for the first quarter surged 52% year-over-year, reaching €24.2 billion on double-digit increases in all industrial businesses, while revenue climbed 17% year-over-year, to €16.5 billion, for an extraordinary book-to-bill ratio of 1.47
  • •Orders rose 42% and revenue grew 9% on a comparable basis, excluding currency translation and portfolio effects, primarily the acquisition of Varian Medical Systems, Inc. (Varian) between the periods under review
  • •Profit Industrial Business increased 12% year-over-year, to €2.5 billion, and the profit margin came in at 15.7%
  • •Net income rose 20% to €1.8 billion resulting in basic earnings per share (EPS) of €2.05; EPS before purchase price allocation accounting (EPS pre PPA) was €2.24
  • •Free cash flow from continuing and discontinued operations stronger year-over-year at €1.1 billion

Cummins Darlington Plant Hits 1.5 Million Mid-Range Engines

 

Cummins announced that its factory in Darlington has manufactured its 1.5 millionth Mid-Range engine in January. The site produced 66,000 engines in 2021, and employs around 1,500 people working in engine assembly, exhaust aftertreatment manufacture, technical operations, and business support functions. Craig Thomas, Darlington Plant Manager said, “Our workforce has been through many challenges over the years, none more than the current COVID pandemic. This milestone is a great achievement and a recognition of all of their efforts to keep engine production running and our customers supported.”

Despite the challenges posed by the ongoing global coronavirus pandemic, fragile supply chains and supply bottlenecks, the HARTING Technology Group, based in Espelkamp in the Minden-Lübbecke district, continued on its path of growth in the 2020/21 business year (ended on 30 September). The international family owned and managed business generated sales of EUR 869 million, up 14.5% on the previous year (EUR 759 million).

On September 17, 2019 Weidmüller Canada held a re-opening ceremony at its Canadian facility in Markham, Ontario. The location is home to Weidmüller Canada’s administrative staff, customer service representatives, technical support group, inside sales and a complete product warehouse and distribution centre for Canada. Weidmüller was initially founded in 1975 in Germany and has been in operation in Canada since 1986.
