The new production plant is officially in operation after its formal unveiling at Lafert’s 60th anniversity celebrations in San Donà di Piave, Italy, close to the historic headquarters. The 130 000 sq foot plant was developed to increase production capacity and meet the growing demand for IE5 Super Premium Efficiency motors, while also providing new storage areas for raw materials and finished products.
The HPS dV/dT filters are specifically designed for use between variable frequency drives (VFD’s) and motors when longer cable lengths are used. Witness real time testing of the HPS Centurion D1 in the HPS Power Quality lab.
ABB has extended its all-compatible family of machinery drives with the new ACS180 variable speed drive (VSD) for applications up to 22 kilowatts (kW). This easy-to-use and compact VSD brings reliability and performance for machinery builders.
Applied Motion Products New PH Series Mini Planetary Gearmotors are used with small step motors in NEMA 8, 11, and 14 frame sizes. The small design of the gearheads allows them to be paired with small motors and doesn’t adversely affect the outside dimensions of the combined gearmotor.
Rittal’s annual ‘Women in Tech’ Scholarships are so important as they recognize that women have a vital contribution to make in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) fields. Rittal Limited is so pleased to have pioneered this scholarship in 2019, and continues to award the Electro-Federation Canada ‘Women in Tech’ Scholarship annually, to deserving women to help them to pursue their dreams in the Electrical Industry.
The way we generate power has been undergoing a radical shift over the last few years as our attention has turned more and more toward decarbonization, primarily using solar and wind power on a large scale. For these renewable technologies to be efficient and cost effective, the intermittency supply with solar and wind must be dealt with. The energy from these renewable sources needs to somehow be stored and released when needed most.
ABB received a Letter of Award from Canadian cleantech company OMNI Conversion Technologies Inc. (OMNI CT) to offer municipalities and industry a fully integrated waste-to-energy solution. ABB was selected by OMNI CT to provide cutting-edge automation technologies to support their process, including industry-leading distributed control system ABB Ability™ System 800xA and ABB integrated eHouse solutions, ready to operate in the field with minimal installation, commissioning, and start-up time.
Festo introduces the Festo Automation Experience (Festo AX), a new machine learning and artificial intelligence (AI) software platform for manufacturing and process systems to ensure maximum uptime of key production assets. Additionally, Festo AX can automate quality assurance and energy monitoring that can reduce material and energy waste. Festo AX gives end users an easy-to-use tool to thrive in a tight labor market and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) a unique capability to differentiate their machines.
Yaskawa America, Inc., Drives and Motion Division, is pleased to announce an expansion to our HV600 family of HVAC Drives. To further advance HV600 as the premier drive for HVAC applications, we are introducing the following products to the family.
Trash compactors are one way that we can improve the environment by reducing the volume of trash that goes into a landfill. Smaller bags, smaller loads means that dumpsters can hold more trash and smaller loads entering the landfill. This also yields fewer times the dumpster needs to be emptied which equals less use of fuel to dump the load. A pressure switch is needed to monitor the amount of hydraulic pressure in the compactor’s system.
Robots are an integral part of the manufacturing industry worldwide to the extent that they are indispensable. In production, robots and cobots frequently encounter each other, working and interacting side by side with humans, but also performing tasks independently. The latest industrial robots move in a three-dimensional space and can therefore perform a wide variety of tasks. In order to ensure optimum system performance, the use of a dress pack is required to keep a robot running as frequently as possible. Regional Sales Manager Gordon Post discusses some of the questions he hears in the field about robotic cable protection systems.
Manufacturers seeking to avoid downtime and work-in-progress due to heater failure in industrial ovens, kilns, and metal heat treatment applications can gain peace of mind from a new Omron solution that monitors heater condition with high accuracy on a 24/7 basis. Industry leading automation solution provider Omron Automation Americas recently launched a new heater condition monitor that supports predictive maintenance by preventing heater failure.
Maximize your machine’s performance: Performing precise linear motor drive control and nanoscale positioning, the PMAC (Programmable Multi Axis Controller) has been appreciated by manufacturers of semiconductor manufacturing equipment and other leading-edge equipment. Omron now offers a next generation motion controller CK3M that packs PMAC’s superior motion control capability, multi-vendor connectivity, and flexible development capability into its compact design.
