Achieving a Swift Reduction in Global Coal Emissions is the Central Challenge for Reaching International Climate Targets

 

The world must move quickly to reduce carbon dioxide emissions from coal significantly in order to avoid severe impacts from climate change, a new IEA report says, calling for immediate policy action to rapidly mobilise massive financing for clean energy alternatives to coal and to ensure secure, affordable and fair transitions, especially in emerging and developing economies.

Based on expert advice, Ontario is proposing new legislation that, if passed, would support the continued delivery of world-class wastewater treatment services for the Region of York. Through the proposed Supporting Growth and Housing in York and Durham Act, 2022, Ontario would facilitate expedited improvements to the existing York-Durham Sewage System network connected to the Duffin Creek treatment facility that is co-owned and operated by York and Durham Regions.

Ballard Receives Order from Siemens Mobility to Power 7 Trains and Signs LOI for Up to An Additional 200 Modules Over the Next Six Years

 

Ballard Power Systems recently announced an order for 14 x 200 kW fuel cell modules from Siemens Mobility GmbH, a leading supplier in the development of alternative drives, to power a fleet of seven Mireo Plus H passenger trains. Delivery of the 14 fuel cell modules is expected to start in 2023 with the fleet planned to be in service in Berlin-Brandenburg region in late 2024.

ABB Wins $170 Million In Orders to Enhance Europe’s Railway Network

 

ABB has been awarded from Stadler Valencia orders worth $170 million to power more than 300 new trains and locomotives with highly energy-efficient traction technologies. They will be used in different European railway networks to modernize and reinforce train transportation in countries such as Spain, Portugal, UK, Germany, or Austria, as well as in some European railway corridors. The majority of these orders have been booked in Q3, 2022. The scope of supply includes ABB’s traction converters and motors to power the trains.
