Ballard Power Systems recently announced an order for 14 x 200 kW fuel cell modules from Siemens Mobility GmbH, a leading supplier in the development of alternative drives, to power a fleet of seven Mireo Plus H passenger trains. Delivery of the 14 fuel cell modules is expected to start in 2023 with the fleet planned to be in service in Berlin-Brandenburg region in late 2024.
With recognized technology and quality in large-size drives, WEG develops solutions for projects such as planetary and parallel shaft gearboxes for application in several industrial processes. For Batatais Sugar Cane Plant, located in the state of São Paulo – Brazil, WEG supplied eight planetary sets, driven by steam turbines, specifically developed with technical details to make the solution even more robust and efficient, producing a complete and unique solution for the sugar-energy sector.
ABB has been awarded from Stadler Valencia orders worth $170 million to power more than 300 new trains and locomotives with highly energy-efficient traction technologies. They will be used in different European railway networks to modernize and reinforce train transportation in countries such as Spain, Portugal, UK, Germany, or Austria, as well as in some European railway corridors. The majority of these orders have been booked in Q3, 2022. The scope of supply includes ABB’s traction converters and motors to power the trains.

The Endress+Hauser Customer Experience Centre is Zero Carbon Building (ZCB) – Design Certified, the first of two advanced sustainability targets for the new facility. ABB is investing US $13 million in its Installation Products Division Iberville manufacturing facility in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Quebec, to increase production capacity and establish a research & development facility at its global center of excellence for cable tray manufacturing.
