More Advantages With Temposonics R-Series V Profinet Linear Displacement Transducer

Temposonics, an industry leader in magnetostrictive linear sensor technology, has announced a new generation of sensors focused on Industry 4.0, which features advanced machine monitoring and predictive maintenance capabilities to enhance industrial productivity.

The R-Series V PROFINET now transmits additional sensor status information, such as internal temperature, total operating hours, and distance traveled by magnets, directly to the controller via the PROFINET protocol. This allows for improved predictive maintenance and machine condition monitoring.

Updates include the encoder profile version V4.2, making the R-Series V PROFINET the first linear position sensor certified for this version. The MTS profile and corresponding description file have also been certified by PNO. The Temposonics profile enables easy parameter setting and simultaneous monitoring of switching points with position and velocity output, synchronized with the controller’s clock.

Available in rod- and profile-style, Temposonics R-Series V transducers have a 37% smaller housing, allowing for more compact application designs. They are more robust and reliable, with an extended operating temperature range of -40° to +85°C, increased shock resistance to 150 g, and vibration resistance to 30 g. The larger voltage supply range facilitates integration into harsher environments while maintaining precise measurements up to 0.5 µm.

Backward compatible with previous generations, the R-Series V combines proven performance and quality with new, intelligent features, delivering familiar reliability with enhanced functionality
