Pilz Canada Q2 update: Growth Continues Despite Global Threats

Andreas Sobotta, M.Sc., CEO & General Manager Pilz Canada, reports:

“Hello Everybody,

The first half year of 2023 was the very best in the history of Pilz Canada, for both order intake as well as sales. YOY we are up over 40%! Also, Q2/2023 was the best quarter for order intake, and the second best for sales. Thanks a lot, to our loyal customers, distribution partners and the excellent Pilz Canada team!

We were able to reduce our backlog by 50% compared to January, and the lead times of all products could be significantly reduced. We are still very conservative with promised lead times by adding a safety buffer – being an Automation Safety company this makes a lot of sense.

In the past three months, we experienced a slower order intake, like a lot of companies in our industry. Right now, we are cautious with predictions for next year, anticipating a tougher environment.

Besides our product sales we see a lot of interest in our services. Our safety trainings across Canada are experiencing record levels of participants, whether we conduct them in our office, hotels or at customers sites. Also, our CE-marking service for customers who are exporting goods to Europe, is growing significantly. We just launched a new service product which supports customers that are exporting to Great Britain, called UKCA (UK Conformity Assessment). Since the Brexit, the regular CE marking service is not sufficient anymore.

Last but not least we were able to fill our open position for the VP of first impressions (customer support and order desk): Vicki McQuilken joint us in May and is a great addition to our team.

Now we are looking forward to our 10yrs Pilz Canada anniversary celebrations; details will follow in the Q3-update.
