Hammond Power Solutions (HPS) enables electrification through its broad range of dry-type transformers, power quality products and related magnetics. HPS’ standard and custom-designed solutions are essential and ubiquitous in electrical distribution networks within an extensive range of industries including renewable energy, EV charging, data centers, microgrids, and industrial/commercial settings. HPS has manufacturing plants in Canada, the United States (U.S.), Mexico and India and sells products around the globe.

The HPS Centurion™ P passive harmonic filter already employs a low kVAR to HP ratio in its mitigation of harmonics to meet IEEE 519 guidelines. The new capacitor contactor option for the HPS Centurion™ P passive harmonic filter allows users to open and close a contact, removing the filter’s capacitors from the circuit. Typically the user will control the contactor by providing a configurable contact output from a Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) which opens at light loads.
