AutomationDirect adds Inductive Linear Position Transducers

July 14, 2020

Linear Variable Inductance Transducers (LVITs) from Alliance Sensors Group convert the linear displacement of an object into a proportional electrical signal output of 0-10V or 4-20mA (depending on model). LVITs are contactless devices designed for dimension or position measuring applications where the sensing element cannot be attached to the object being measured. LVITs exhibit outstanding repeatability and are used when higher accuracy is required.

The Alliance LVIT proprietary SenSet process provides the ability to match the end points of the sensor’s analog output with the ends of the range of motion of a workpiece (such as a hydraulic cylinder ram) in which the sensor is installed. The SenSet feature permits the user to optimize the position measuring system resolution over the full range of motion.

Configuration styles include spring loaded with ball tip, 19mm (0.75in) cylinder with rod eye mounting, and 27mm (1.05in) cylinder with rod eyes. Stroke lengths vary from 6.35mm (0.25in) to 457.2mm (18in).

Priced from $299.00, AutomationDirect’s Alliance Sensors Group inductive linear position transducers are CE, RoHS approved and have a 1-year warranty.
