Regal’s Genteq® Ensite® Motor Wins 2019 AHR Innovation Award

November 2, 2018

Regal Beloit Corporation recently announced it has been awarded a 2019 International Air-Conditioning, Heating, Refrigerating (AHR) Exposition Innovation Award for its Genteq® Ensite® motor.

The AHR Expo Innovation Awards recognize and honor the most inventive and original products, systems and technologies showcased at each year’s AHR Expo. Winners are selected by a panel of third-party ASHRAE member judges who evaluate all award entries based on innovative design, creativity, application, value and market impact.

Winning companies are presented the awards during a ceremony held at the AHR Expo. Entry fees for the Innovation Awards are donated to an organization in the region where the show is located in need of HVACR repairs, upgrades or installations.

“We’re excited to bring home some hardware and give our customers another reason to trust that our products are some of the best in the business,” said Deep Dey, Regal’s marketing director of FER. “We’re going to continue innovating and pursuing the development of award-worthy, cost-effective and compliant products.”

The Genteq Ensite motor is an electronically commutated motor (ECM) designed for furnace applications. It enables customers to comply with the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Fan Energy Rating (FER) regulatory requirements that will take effect in July 2019.

The motor offers a cost-effective option, with premium features like advanced Blak Box® motor diagnostics technology, Electrand™ wand compatibility, and Near Field Communication (NFC) capabilities that provide Internet of Things (IoT) and preventive maintenance capabilities.

Pairing best-in-class reliability and improved noise performance with the advanced IoT capabilities of the Ensite motor results in a product that drives the lowest total cost of ownership for customers, 85 percent overall efficiency and 33 percent greater efficiency than permanent split capacitor (PSC) motors.
