Powerful and robust industrial gear units are often associated with customized solutions and – for technical reasons – rather long delivery times. SEW-EURODRIVE is putting an end to this with the ATO5 range: The industrial gear units without design modifications – i.e. "Assemble-To-Order" – leave the factory just 5 working days after being ordered and and make their way to the place of use.

X.e and P gear units ready to deliver in five days

Excellent news if you're in a hurry – whether you work in design, procurement or maintenance. Industrial gear units from SEW‑EURODRIVE are now with you even faster and ensure your application is up and running within a short space of time.

SEW-EURODRIVE's ATO5 to go range (ATO = Assemble To Order) for shorter delivery times makes this possible. All ATO5 industrial gear units from the tried-and-tested SEW‑EURODRIVE modular system leave our plant just five working days after your order.

Standard Generation X.e helical and bevel-helical gear units in sizes up to 45 kNm and standard P series planetary gear units up to 360 kNm are available as ATO5 products – including almost all options. From March 2021, you can order Generation X.e gear units up to 175 kNm with reduced delivery time.

It doesn't get faster than that. Unless you're dealing with an emergency. If your machine is at a standstill, SEW-EURODRIVE can send you the replacement gear unit after just one working day. That's the ultimate in flexibility and operational reliability for anyone in a hurry.

New woodlands are being created in the UK with the help of Mid Wales-based Invertek Drives through the Forest Carbon project to offset its carbon footprint. The company, which manufactures variable frequency drives (VFD) at its global headquarters at Welshpool, Powys, has worked with a local printing company to purchase ‘carbon balancing’ paper for all of its in-house printers, including the printing of its products’ handbooks.

Forest Carbon plants woodlands for companies wanting to mitigate the impact of their greenhouse emissions, as well as making a contribution to wider environmental benefits. It is the only UK-based carbon standard and is supported by the government.

The woodlands are planted at locations where they would not otherwise be commercially viable. The paper purchased by Invertek Drives is currently helping plant trees on land near Carlisle, Cumbria.

The new woodlands will not only help capture CO2, but also provide benefits for local biodiversity, landscape, flood management, water quality and recreation.

Referring to companies like Invertek Drives, Carbon Forest states: “These are companies who already avoid and reduce their emissions as far as they can and want to finish the job by capturing the remaining balance.”

Allied Motor MaintenanceSmall motors – both AC and DC – serve as critical points in industrial operations. They may be integral to automation and equipment control and serve multiple purposes to mechanically drive and actuate systems and equipment, but are often replaced rather than repaired or reconditioned.

Larger motors may be repaired, rewound, and sent into a motor rewind pool.  However, many motors will simply be replaced when imminent signs of failure are detected using smart equipment, instrumentation, and tools discussed below.
